Shri Surendra Singh, IPS (Retd.), Vice Chairman, MPSDMA

Shri Surendra Singh is a retired IPS officer of 1980 batch of MP Cadre. Shri Singh has had a distinguished service and has served MP Police in various capacities as ASP Raipur (now in CG), Adl SP Raipur (now in CG), Adl SP Jashpurnagar (now in CG), SP Mandla, SP Morena, SP Khandwa, SP Durg (now in CG), SP Bhopal, AIG SB, AIG CID, AIG Pers, DIG Adm, DIG INT, IGP Chambal, IGP Bhopal, ADG Fire Services, ADG Law and Order, ADG INT L&O, ADG SAF, ADG Adm, ADG Jail, DG Jail and DG Police. In June 2016, he retired from the post of Director General of Police, MP Government. His extraordinary service career has been decorated with the ‘Indian Police Medal’ and ‘President’s Police Medal’ by the Government of India. At present, Shri Singh is holding the post of Vice Chairman in MPSDMA, Government of MP.

Prior to his joining SDMA on deputation, Shri Saurabh Kumar has served Disaster Management Institute, Bhopal for more than 19 years.  Mr. Kumar is Master of Science (M.Sc) – in Chemistry, trained at Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), Bangkok, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and all the Modules of Incident Command System in INDIA AND U.S. He has worked as senior faculty with over 20 years of working experience in the field of Industrial and natural disaster management. He has coordinated Police Training in Disaster Management in the State of Madhya Pradesh, Capacity Building Programme in joint collaboration with SDERF, M.P. He has developed Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for Flood Management in the State of Madhya Pradesh and Incident Reporting System for SDMA. At present in SDMA, Shri Saurabh Kumar is in-charge Officer of Training and Capacity Building Division of SDMA and has additional charge of Media and Documentation division also.

Before joining SDMA on depuation, Dr Dilip Kumar Singh has served Disaster Management Institute, Bhopal for more than 15 years.  Dr Singh is Master of Technology (M.Tech) - In Applied Geology (Gold Medalist) from prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur, PhD in Geological-Geotechnical hazard Management, trained at Asian Institute of Technology & Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) works as senior faculty with over 19 years of working experience in the field of natural resources management, geological, hydrological and geotechnical hazard management, ICS training and application of science and technology in disaster management. To his credit are over 12 research paper publications, 17 consultancy assignments and prestigious training programs for the government official of Madhya Pradesh and other states across India besides a national Hockey and Kho-Kho Player. Prior to joining DMI has worked with the EPCO, Govt of MP and AMPRI (RRL-CSIR) Govt of India and Nippon Koi Company Limited (NKCL) under Overseas Economic Cooperation fund, Govt of Japan. At present, in SDMA, Dr. Dilip Kumar Singh is in-charge Officer of Research and Policy Development Division of SDMA and has additional charge of Finance Planning and Coordination division also.

Shri Ashim Sen, Assistant Director, MPSDMA

Shri Ashim Sen is Masters in Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialisation in Communication Systems. After his selection through UPSC, Shri Sen joined Directorate of Coordination (Police Wireless), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. In his parent department (DCPW, MHA) he was posted as Assistant Director (Group-A) at POLNET (Police Satellite Communication Network) Hub at New Delhi and was responsible for ensuring round the clock satellite communication between nationwide VSAT terminals of DCPW, Central Armed Police Forces and State/UT Police Forces. He was actively involved in all satellite communication matters which include transmission of voice calls and data pertaining to relief and rescue operation during natural disasters / calamities through POLNET. Shri Sen joined State Disaster Management Authority (Government of Madhya Pradesh) on deputation and presently in-charge of Operation and Coordination Division, International Cooperation and New Technology Development Division and Administrative Division.
